New York City Daycare, Kindergarten & Preparatory  is an institution which offers  24 hour daycare services  to parents of Old Harbour and surrounding areas whose children are between the ages of 6 weeks - 6 years old. At New York City Daycare, we not only offer basic daycare services, however learning is fostered through a variety of platforms. Children are provided with the opportunity to partake in  extra-curricular activities  which includes :

Known for our reliability, affordability, uniqueness and expertise as it relates to grooming, nurturing and monitoring children, New York City Daycare was founded in 2016 by Sherine Macalla-Simmonds who is the Chief Executive Officer. We currently operate in the town of Old Harbour but have plans of expanding and extending our services into other parishes in the near future to serve our clients better.

The fact that knowledge is now at our finger tips as a result of the evolution in technology, the management team here at New York City Daycare place special emphasis on empowering our staff members specifically our teachers.  All our teachers are highly trained  and possess Early Childhood Diploma`s which makes them capable and competent at their jobs. Our number one priority at New York City Daycare is to eliminate the hassle for parents, thereby providing;  safe, efficient and cost effective services.  As such, we make it our point of duty to develop and maintain a mutual and amicable relationship with all our parents through the different mediums.

There`s always a voice for our Parents and all stakeholders , therefore, they are given the opportunity to state their concerns and suggestions through our Social Media Platforms, P.T.A. meetings which are kept once every term and Suggestion Boxes that are located at both institutions which enhances our relationship with them.

Goals and Philosophy

Self expression in a group format is the best way to describe the foundation of our philosophy. Each child is blessed with their own unique personality and skill set. Therefore, at New York City Daycare, Preschool and Kindergarten Prep, we treasure individuality and try to strengthen it according to the students own pace. We provide an environment where children feel safe and are encouraged to explore materials, as well as developing their relationships with peers and adults. We believe that children learn by doing and thrive emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively when they are actively engaged with their environment. Goals for each child include helping them to;

• Move along the development sequence at his/her optimum rate using learning objectives from Teaching Strategies.
• Learn through identifying children`s interests and incorporating them into a natural play setting.
• Develop positive work habits and skills, such as; attention span, organizing work and following a daily routine.
• Develop foundations for reading, writing, visual skills and auditory skills.
• Develop a love for literature and to become familiar with literacy and language.
• Develop cognitive skills such as; problem solving, critical thinking and reasoning.
• Develop the foundations of Mathematics.
